The Taiwan Museum of Art, which opened in 1988, has a total of 24 exhibition halls. The museum regularly holds exhibitions of Western art, Chinese brush paintings, and sculpture, and has its own collection of valuable pieces of art. Residents can relax in the garden outside the museum.

In the summer of 1998, the former Provincial Cultural Affairs Department rents the warehouse number 20 to 26 of Taichung Railway Station from Taiwan Railways Administration, and denominates the area “Art Stock 20 – Art Site of Taichung Railway Warehouse" after renovation. Among all the warehouses, number 22 to 26 have become free spaces where the artists are allowed to create their artistic pieces, and stock number 20 and 21 are functioned as performance hall, theater, coffee house, and etc. The birth of Art Stock 20 enables Taiwan Railways to transform from cargo transportation to the delivery of culture and art. In the future, travellers who need to head north or south can arrive at the train station in advance to enjoy leisurely a cup of coffee or appreciate the exhibited artworks with the most attentive heart. For those who do not need to take a train ride, Art Stock 20 can still be the new landmark where one is able to experience a sumptuous feast of the soul.

Maple GardenNo matter which season it is, walking in the Maple Garden is a visual enjoyment! Located next to Taiwan Boulevard in Taichung City, Maple Garden is a unique U-shaped recreational greenland for the city residents. It has an area of 3 hectares, and contains a lake, red trees, green grass, and observatory bridge. It is a great place for talking a walk, going on a date, and exercising. During the day, there is comforting greenness, and at night, it is filled with sleepless lighting. It has only been opened for half a year, and has rapidly become one of the most famous scenic spots in Taichung

The band shaped city space that is Green Park Road connects the National Museum of Natural Science, Citizens’ Plaza, CMP Park Lane, an arts space, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and a food street. The atmosphere changes with each different activity: sometimes bustling, sometimes tranquil, the space sometimes full, sometimes empty, giving the area a natural harmony and flow like that of grass script calligraphy. As the design was based on the concept of finding the Way the writing of ‘grass script’ calligraphy it is also known as the Calligraphy Greenway.

What is most unique about Jingming 1st Street is its comfortable and leisure environment. There are outdoor chairs on the sidewalks, allowing you to rest when tired of shopping. With the aroma of coffee adding to the continental atmosphere, it is the first street in Taichung to be selected as an exemplar street by the Civil Services of Doc, Ministry of Economic Affairs.There are over a hundred boutique-style stores, selling clothes, food, and afternoon tea, etc. The street also features the Emperors Crown Wishing Pond.
