Kaohsiung 85 Building, or the T & C Tower or 85 SKYTOWER , is an 85-floor skyscraper located in Lingya District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The structure is 347.5 m high. An antenna pushes the building height to 378 m . The building was constructed from 1994 to 1997. It is the tallest in Kaohsiung, and was the tallest in Taiwan until the completion of Taipei 101. It replaced the Shin Kong Life Tower (244.2 m) as the tallest building in Taiwan when it was completed in 1993. The tower has an unusual prong design with two separate 39-floor sections, which merge into a single central tower rising to a spire. This unique design leaves a substantial space below the central part of the tower. The design was inspired by the Chinese character Kao, meaning "tall," and also the first character in the citys name. The building was designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners and Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum. John W. Milton was Project Director on behalf of Turner International Inc (New York, N.Y.), a subsidiary of Turner Construction.

Chengqing Lake is located in Kaohsiung Citys Niaosong District. It is the largest lake in the Kaohsiung area, developed originally as a reservoir to meet the need for water for industrial use. Later on the lake was improved through environmental landscaping, until today it offers the beauty of a forested park. It was opened to the public as a tourist destination in 1960. The surface of the lake has a water area of more than 300 hectares, and the highway that has been built around it stretches for a total of seven kilometers.The tranquil beauty of the area has led it to be given the sobriquet, "West Lake of Taiwan." The best known of the lakes attractions is probably its Bridge of Nine Turns, which was built in 1960; it is 230 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, and does indeed have nine turns.
