Fu Dong Ji , a temple of Japanese Eastern Esoteric Buddhism (Dōngmì) built by Guru Weili, an exchange student in Japan, is the most magnificent and beautiful temple im Gaoshu District. The name of the temple derives from the worshipping of FudŌ MyŌŌ. The Temple is in great Japanese temple style, rarely seen in Taiwan. There are statues of Japanese monks with bamboo racks on their back in the yard. About 5 Ha large, the Temple with four spectacular buildings is quite appealing. The trail paved by antique stone mills in the garden is very unique. Besides, the flowers, trees, potted plants, and stones catch visitors’ attention as well. They would be reluctant to leave such a beautiful place. Before Dajing Waterfall, Gaoshu Township, Pingtung County

Dajing Waterfall, also known as A-wu Waterfall, is one of the most famous waterfalls in Northern Pingtung. The Waterfall consists of five layers. Common visitors would only go to as far as the second layer. The Waterfall, as high as about 20 meters, falls down vertically in 90 degrees. It looks spectacular. After the rain season, it would look more amazing. The Waterfall is lined with dense woods and a cool river. IT takes about 30 minutes to walk from the parking space at Cijin Temple to the Waterfall. It is paved with a gradual rising trail, great for hiking, taking a forest bath, and taking a shower.At the intersection between Gaoshu Township and Sandimen Township, Pingtung.

Dewen Scenic AreaThe visitors will perceive the picturesque scenery at Dewen Village, Sandimen Township, Pingtung County. Dewen Scenic Area includes 8 tourist spots at Denwen Village in 800 meters altitude established by Sandimen Township Office. The eight spots include: Swan Lake, Lovers’ Lake, Tianhong Waterfall, Guanwan Mountain, Bat Cave, Dashi Bridge, Gushi City, and Great Banyan. The whole Area is up to 1560 Ha. The visitors can enjoy the steep mountains, deep valley, and other natural scenes on the way to Dewen Village. Since most of the residents in Dewen Village are Drekays, there are aboriginal cultural and historic relices here, such as stone walls, tables, chairs, and totems. However, because the Area is a restricted mountain area, only those will permits are admitted. The most special part of the Village is the combination between natural scenery and local cultures by numerous aboriginal totems and installation arts. The visitors can thus enjoy the natural scenery and experience aboriginal culture at the same time. Founded in Japanese Colonial Period, Ligang Wonton (Pork Knuckles) have been built for more than 60 years. It is one of the famous foods in Taiwan. With thin wrappings and delicate stuff, the wontons melt in your mouth while the pork knuckles are stewed in small fire, tasting great and not greasy. Ligang Wenfu Wonton has been registered with a trademark and sold in airtight package. The products can be made into wonton soup, deep-friedn wontons, and wontons in sugar and vinegar sauce, etc. Besides, there is a 520-year-old autumn maple tree planted in early Dutch Colonial Period. Each year, worshippers hold events in honor of the “King Tree" and “to meet the Tree."
